Arrangements for upcoming Presidential visits

Today I have outlined further details about the upcoming visits to Australia by the Presidents of Indonesian and the United States.

President Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono

His Excellency will address the National Parliament on Wednesday, 10 March.

The House will meet as usual at 9am for the introduction of bills and consideration of Government Business before suspending at 12 noon for the official luncheon in the Great Hall.

The Indonesian President will deliver his address to the House of Representatives at 2pm with both Members and Senators present.

The Parliament will again suspend following the address by his Excellency, resuming at approximately 4pm with the tabling of documents, statements and the resumption of debate.

There will be no Question Time.

President Barack Obama

The President of the United States of America will address the National Parliament on Tuesday, 23 March 2010. Further details are to be advised.

Both the House and the Senate will meet the day before (Monday, 22 March) to deal with Government Business as per the usual Order of Business. There will be a Question Time at 2pm.
