On Sunday 28 October, Anthony announced Federal Labor's commitment to contribute $3 million towards the funding of Leichhardt Oval. He was joined by Maxine McKew, then Labor candidate for Bennelong, John Murphy, Labor Member for Lowe, Verity Firth, State Labor Member for Balmain, Royce Simmons, Assistant Coach of Wests Tigers, and members of the local teams. Anthony attended St Paul of the Cross Primary School, Dulwich Hill, for the presentation of Singapore Airlines's A380 art competition. The school received $10,000 for their library as part of the prize, and a class of grade five and six students from the school will be some of the first people in the world to tour the airline's new A380 aircraft - 25 September 2007.
Anthony officially opened the Oktoberfest Celebrations at the Concordia Club in Tempe. He was honoured to receive life membership to the Club by Club President Reimer Schmidt - 22 September 2007.

Students from Ashfield Boys High School participated in Democracy Week 2007. Anthony visited the school to hear about the project, and was presented with a booklet prepared by the boys who participated in the program - 4 September 2007.
Christian Brothers Lewisham received a prize from the Australian Government as part of National Literacy and Numeracy Week. Anthony attended the prize ceremony in Canberra on 16 August, and presented a cheque to the school community in Lewisham on 3 September.
Anthony again visited the Tristar factory, where workers had been fighting for their redundancy entitlements. On this day, 13 of the workers learned that they would receive their redundancies, but the entitlements of a handful of other workers remained uncertain - 31 August 2007. Vinh Pham of Marrickville won the Lord Florey Prize for Academic Excellence in 2006. He received a prize and a certificate, which were officially presented by Anthony - 31 August 2007.
